We Visit: DC National Zoo (Meet-Up Post)

Hello ladies and gents. Time for another post! This one I'm really excited about because it was my very first Lolita Meetup. Now I know I'm not lolita, but since I had met some at Sakura Matsuri, they invited me to join them on this meet up. They were all really nice to me and were really fun to hang out with.

I was surprised to find out that quite a few of them are interested in coming over to the Hime Gyaru style and I was super happy to share more info about it with them. I even shared some cool tips about shoes and hair to help them out. I felt so useful. Lol. They were all very sweet and I had a great time making new frilly friends.

I really thought I was going to be much more nervous around them, so I asked Kristen to come with me on this journey, since she is an X-Lolita, I felt like she could help me out with the whole thing. I'm so glad I have her around, or I swear I would probably chicken out most of the time. Lol.

Anywho, we started to day off at the Zoo. We were a bit early so, me and Kristen had a lot of time to see what we wanted until we met up with the other girls. It only took them about an hour to find us and we all went on our way to view the zoo. Everyone looked so cute walking around the zoo all dolled up!

We had a really fun time and ended up going for sushi at Yo! Sushi in Union station. That place is amazing. It's a rotating sushi bar, but the walls are all decorated with pictures from Harajuku and Shabuya. Even the menu had a picture of a Hime Gyaru on it. Sadly, by then my phone had died so I couldn't take a picture of it, but I will next time! If you haven't been there, you should try it out. It's amazing.

Having lolita friends is actually pretty fun and all the things I thought they were, they're not, and all the things I thought they weren't, they are. Snake Bites and Crowns Don't Mix? G_S post. (Long Sorry)

Hello ladies and gents. This post is mostly going to be text, and it's gonna be mostly about how I feel about my style and Hime Gyaru style in general, so I'm sorry if it's long and kinda boring. So, to start it off, I got posted on G_S today and I'm not complaining about being posted because it wasn't the first time. Mainly, it was a pretty neutral post, mostly talking about how they thought my outfit was cute and that I should keep trying. I appreciated it, but there were some things that I wanted to cover and explain.

So first off, I want to cover the spamming thing. I do remember spamming the tumblr tag for Hime Gyaru a while ago, but recently I actually haven't been spamming my own attempts. I learned that it was dumb to just spam my crappy attempts without asking for advice on it and I really hope I didn't annoy people with it(I probably did). There was also a comment about how my attempts pretty much fluxuate from getting better to getting worse. I usually don't get much feedback from people about my attempts and I feel like a lot of new gyaru or gyaru who have been in the style for a while and still are struggling are like this because a lot of the more experienced gyaru won't, or choose not to give goo advice. Instead they will bash, or make fun of them. This really doesn't help at all. I am actually really glad that the person who wrote my secret was pretty nice about it and told me how they felt about my style.

That being said, I want to cover the snake bites comment. -sigh- Ok, so I know piercings aren't something Hime Gyaru's really have, but all in all, I'm not getting rid of them. I have had this said to me before, that I should get rid of my piercings or make them more subtle, but I like my piercings the way they are. There are plenty of pretty gaijin Hime Gyaru with piercings in that still look amazing. In my opinion, piercings and crowns do mix quite well.

And I the last thing I'd like to cover is the whole wig situation. I totally agree with this person on this actually. Lol. I have had that wig a while and I've tried my best to save it, but it is time to get rid of it and start a new. The thing is, I am on a budget and I do have bills and such to pay, so getting a new wig does take time for me. My actual hair isn't the best. I'm not gonna lie. It's really short, but I always wanted to try to do some Hime co-ords with my short hair and see how that works out. Hopefully I can pull it off and I won't have to rely on wigs so much.

The last thing I wanted to cover was the make-up comment. First off, I don't 'cake on' my makeup. I barely wear makeup. I only wear a lot of makeup when I do cosplay. I think they were referring to my eye liner and blush maybe, but I don't put that on too heavy. I'm really dark in the face and there isn't much I can do about that, so in order to make more make up show up, I need to add it a little heavier, but it's not caked on. I don't like skin lightening, and I am proud of my skin and the way my face looks. I know a lot of darker skinned, gyaru are doing the whole BB cream and skin lightening thing, but it's just not me and I don't think I'll ever do it. Not that I'm resistant to change, but I have good skin and I heard that skin lightening creams are bad for your skin. I will admit I do need to work on applying my lashes better, but that whole makeup thing... I don't know, I don't think my make up is that bad.

Now I'm not defending G_S nor am I totally against it. I really think that some of the secrets could actually help if the right people wrote them and they weren't all about how stupid, or dumb, or ugly, or fat someone is. If people would just use it as a tool to help people improve on their skills, it wouldn't be such an elephant in the room when people are having conversations about Gyaru in general. I know that I'm going to take this as a positive thing, and push forward and learn from my secret and try and be a better Hime Gyaru.

We Vist: Historical Ellicott City (Short Trip/ Picture heavy)

Hello ladies and gentleman! Today me and Kristen went to Historic Ellicott City for a day trip. This place was really cool, and we planned on taking tons of pictures but sadly we got rained out in the middle of our trip! (ノД`)・゜・。 We had to leave early but we decided that we're gonna plan a big Hime trip there soon and do all the things we wanted to do.

We visited a comic book store that has been there for years, and it was so fun. The place was called Cosmic Comix. I love comic books and I believe I can be a pretty big nerd a some points. It made me happy to visit such a cool store and I wished I could have taken some pictures of it but we weren't allowed.

This was a cute little place we got to. Too bad it started raining and we had to leave (´Д｀。)

We ended the day with some ice cream, so it wasn't all bad. I think once we pick a better day to go out, we'll have a much better time. I'm so sad it rained, we didn't even get to go shopping. Next time I will make sure we get to go shopping and show off our style a but more.

Ok, so I'm not going to lie. I haven't been the best at maintaining this blog I have here, and I'm sure none of you probably really care too much, but I'm gonna try and maintain it. -sigh- Well, any whoot! I wanted to start of with a few photo bombing posts~

Recently, I went to this years Sakura Matsuri in DC and had a blast! I tried out my first serious Hime coord and it turned out a lot of people really liked it. I felt really good about it too. I even made some friends with some Lolitas I ran into and they were so nice and sweet! They even invited me into the Charm City Lolita Group. I honestly was very scared to talk to Lolitas since I have heard horror stories about them and even around the first time I joined the group in facebook, there was an explosion of drama that kind of scared me.

Anywho, I do plan on going to some meet ups to make some new frilly friends! But for now pictures!

HimeCastle Review (Small Order)

Alrighty! To mend the gap between posts about Anime USA (I'm still waiting for pictures to be uploaded), I am going to do a review about my order from this new place called HimeCastle.com. I ordered from there about 3-4 weeks ago and decided to do a review about their products and services! I hope this helps!

First off, the website itself it very nice. At first, it was a little weird to navigate but they recently fixed it so now it's much simpler. They offer pre-orders on things, and when you shop they allow you to earn points on everything that you buy. You can use these Castle Points to do things like, upgrade you member level, or use it as credit on the site. Now I'm not too sure on how to do this but, I'm sure it would be cool if I could figure it out. :/

The buying process was pretty simple, it uses pay-pal and normal credit cards, but after that the wait was a bit annoying. Verses Rakuten, the shipping as a bit slow and I thought my entire order would get there at the same time, but it didn't. The circle lenses I ordered came first after 3 weeks, which was a shorter waiting time than what I have with Pinky Paradise. The next week my entire package came with the rest of my order.

So since the circle lenses came first, I will start with them. I ordered a pair of I. Fairy Eclipse Series lenses in brown. Here are the lens specs.

First off when I got them, and first put them in, they were very comfortable. Barely noticed them in at all, which made me think I dropped them for a second. Lol. They are available in prescriptions, which is what I got since I can't see crap without glasses and they were perfect. I wore them for a total of 18 hours without them bothering me, even when I was in a club. Though my eyes are really dark and they don't show up too well, they do the job of circle lenses by making my eyes bigger, which is all I could really ask for.

Next I got two pairs of Dolly Wink lashes. I got No. 1 and No. 7. I've heard good things about these lashes from people so I wanted to try them out myself. I haven't actually gotten a chance to use them just yet, but they seem really well made and soft.

I also got myself a pair of Yumetenbo Princess Lace Flower Heels. Now I have bought at least 3 pairs of shoes from this same brand, all lovely, comfortable and exactly what I was looking for. They did not fail with these next pair of heels! They are absolutely lovely and fit perfectly, even though I got them a size smaller than I usually do. On Rakuten, most of the Yumetenbo shoes go up to an LL(8 to 8 1/2), but on HimeCastle, they only seem to go up to a L(7 1/2 to 8). They fit just fine, though I was a little worried when I didn't see my usual size.

Since I spent over $100, they offered free shipping, which was nice, even though the shipping in general is pretty cheap by itself. They also offer free gifts when you spend a certain amount, so I decided to get myself a cute little lens kit.

All in all, I give HimeCastle a 7 out of 10. I really wish the shipping process didn't take as long as it did, since I can just pay a few more bucks to Rakuten to get it here in 3 days. I do love the fact that they do have brands like Ma*rs and Liz Lisa available, as well as a lot of other really cute, lacy, and princessly things. The sizes are general and can fit most people, and payments were easy and fast. If they add more items, and work on the shipping times, I believe this website could be even better, if not the best! I will defiantly shop there again though!

Anime USA Part 1

So this weekend was the weekend that I went to Anime USA in DC. This year had to be the greatest year simply because of all the awesome randomness that went down all weekend!! OK~! Ready? Set! START! Let's go Anime USA!!

So we can started off with Friday~ I wore my Christmas Miku cosplay! Now I was super busy, so I never got a chance to get an actual picture of myself! The pictures aren't up yet from the folks who took pictures of me, so I will have a photo bomb post later on involving pictures of me! I know I only got a few, but hopefully I'll be able to find myself on the internet!

So after cosplaying most of the day, me and my buddy Keito got into our rave gear and went to go to the Mix Speaker's Inc. Q & A. Keito was pretty freaked out and so was I, because we both really love this band! So, finally after a few minutes of us just peeking into the doorway, we went in and enjoyed the panel. Right after was the autograph session! I was so nervous! I was finally going to meet my second favorite band of all time! I bought a photo set to get signed from their PV Sky Heaven, since Seek (My favorite member by the way) said his favorite costume was from!

So as I'm going down the line, getting the photo's signed by their respected member, I'm close to tears! Like literally! So when I finally reach Seek, who is last, I'm breathing pretty hard and he could tell I was about to cry! So he looks up at me and goes, "Please don't cry!" Then it starts! I told him I couldn't help it and he just smiled, drops his pen, grabs both my hands and holds them and looks at me and goes, "Oh no! Please don't cry!" And I freak out completely. I'm in tears by now and I have like five cameras in my face and Seek just chuckles and signs my photo before holding my hands again and kissing them. I almost fainted!!

So after that exciting moment, Keito convinced me to go to the Host Club they had. I said I would only go if she would pay for champange and she said sure. So, he requests a host that is a friend of hers and we're having a good time until he says, "Oh, how about a champagne call?" Keito freaks out and agrees so all the host come over and do a champagne call! I ran into about four hosts that I all knew and they jumped me, hugged me, and said we hadn't seen each other in a long time, which we hadn't! It was so fun because I met a really cute, new host named Sam and we had a drinking race and I beat him. So we got a $100 bottle of champagne after that for FREE!! It was a great time! I can't wait to experienced the host club again. It's so much better when you're good friends with most of the hosts because there's no pressure and no awkwardness, just friends catching up pretty much!!

So right after that, we invited the hosts to the rave with us and they agreed. So me and Keito went to the rave, all sauced up and happy and had an amazing time! I got to see my favorite DJ, Mighty Mike Saga, and he took my rave candy I made for him and even gave me a hug!! I was so pumped!!

So me and Keito danced the night away with hot host guys and then went back to our room, all excited and ready for Saturday! This is where I will end it, since I don't want to write a super long post about it! I will post up the second part ASAP!! For now, stay tuned because you won't believe what happens next!!

Halloween~

Ok, so I know it's late but, I'm gonna post up something about my Halloween this year!

So I know a lot of gyaru call it 'Gal-loween' and what not, wanting to incorporate the gyaru life style and fashion into their costumes and stuff but I always take Halloween as dressing up as someone you're not! So this year I had two costumes since I threw two parties!

First I was Black Princess Peach! Unfortunately, I didn't have time to take a pic of my costume since I was running around trying to be a good hostess. @~@ But I did get a pic of my hubby and my best friend's costumes! There were Mario and Luigi!!

So next party I decided to make sure I took a photo of my costume since it was ON Halloween! I was a Genderbend of Hitman Reborn!'s Lambo!

I took a lot of pride in this costume since I made it myself! I was going to save for an upcoming convention, but I just couldn't wait~ I hope everyone liked it, I know my hubby did since Lambo is his favorite character!

So now more pictures from the parties and stuff! Oi this Halloween was nuts, but I hope to have more fun next year!!
